 Emergency Appointment

Welcome to the official VISA Information Service website of the U.S. Mission in Saudi Arabia.

This service provides information regarding Immigrant and Nonimmigrant visas, as well as detailed application procedures for Nonimmigrant visas.  In addition, the primary and most efficient way to schedule a Nonimmigrant Visa appointment is to do so through this service.

For more than 50 years, the United States of America has required visas to study, visit, or conduct business in the U.S. While changes have been made recently to U.S. visa law, many procedures remain the same.

IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION!

New Visa Fee (MRV fee)

Effective Saturday, June 5, (Jamad Al-Thani 22 1431) all persons applying for U.S. visas in Riyadh, Jeddah or Dhahran will be required to pay a somewhat higher fee for visa services.

All payments are made via SAMBA Bank -- SAMBA account holders may pay online; those without a SAMBA account must pay in person at any SAMBA branch in Saudi Arabia.

At present, the visa fee is Saudi Riyals 498 for most visa categories (B, F, J, -- not diplomatic).   The last day we will accept the fee of only SR 498 is Wednesday, June 2 (Jamad Al-Thani 19).  Thereafter, most applicants will have to pay SR 532 -- be sure to check your visa category carefully!

Anyone applying on or after Saturday, June 5, 2010 (Jamad Al-Thani 22 1431) will have to pay the fee as indicated below.  If you have already paid SR 498 for a B visit visa, F student visa, J visa, etc and your appointment is on or after June 5, you must pay the SR 34 difference to SAMBA Bank prior to coming to your interview.  Please bring both receipts with you to your interview as evidence that you have paid the full SR 532 fee.

The new fees will be:

·         B, F, J and all other categories not listed below, SR 532

·         H, L, O, P, Q, R, SR 570

·         K, SR 1330

·         E, SR 1482

·         Additional SR 34 payment for persons whose appointment falls on or after June 5, 2010 and who previously paid only SR 498.

If you have an appointment on or after June 5, 2010 (Jamad Al-Thani 22 1431) for an H, L, O, P, Q, R, K or E visa and you have already paid the SR 498 fee, you will be required to make an additional payment at the U.S. Embassy at the time of your interview so that the full amount indicated above is paid.  Please bring sufficient cash funds with you to make the required payment.

VISA APPLICATION

ATTENTION: As of February 8, 2010, the internet-based nonimmigrant visa application form DS-160 will be mandatory for all non-immigrant visa applicants.  The DS-160 replaces all previous visa applications (DS-156, DS-156e, DS-157, and DS-158).

Applicants who do not bring a DS-160 confirmation page will not be allowed to enter the Embassy/Consulate for the visa interview.  Every applicant regardless of age must have completed his/her own DS-160 application and must have his/her confirmation page.

To fill out the application go to
https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/.

The DS-156, DS-157 and other paper forms will NOT be accepted.  Please bring the DS-160 confirmation sheet to the interview along with your passport, your MRV fee receipt, a photo, and any other documents that might help the Consular Officer understand your qualifications.
